The trio of wines includes a Chardonnay, Moscato and dry red blend. Details: oliverwinery.com. Winery sold at auction Tidal School Vineyards winery in Drumright, Okla., was sold at auction March 20. More than 1,000 people reportedly attended the auction for the winery, which is housed in a former school built around 1915 to serve the families of oil workers. Toni and Carl Osterhout purchased the building with a winning bid of $168,000. The Osterhouts said they purchased the property to preserve the building, and they don't have any major changes planned. Virginia winemakers collaborate Three Virginia winemakers—Matthieu Finot, Emily Pelton and Jake Busching—who pro- duce wines through a collaborative project known as Team 3, have released their latest wine. The new wine is the fourth to be pro- duced by the team and is a blend of equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Ver- dot. Finot made the Merlot at King Family Vineyards in Crozet, Va., Pelton made the Petit Verdot at Veritas Vineyard & Winery in Afton, Va., and Busch- ing produced the Cabernet Franc at Grace Estate Winery in Crozet. Winemaking, brewing program wins donation Blue Ridge Community College's winemaking and brewing program received nearly $250,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation. The money will be used to purchase equipment, according to a statement released by the school located in Flat Rock, N.C. Details: blueridge.edu. Winemaker buys Brushy Mountain Jason Wiseman, who has worked as winemaker at Brushy Mountain Winery in Elkin, N.C., since 2008, recently purchased the estate with partner Amy Euliss.
