Oklahoma wineries OK after quake A 5.6-magnitude earthquake and a cluster of smaller tremors did little damage to Oklaho- ma wineries in November. The quake broke historic records but apparently not much else—winery owners reported no damage. Far more damage was incurred by volatile weather that wrecked havoc with the state's grape harvest and wiped out some crops. A few winery owners told Wines & Vines they were happy that tanks were empty when they started shaking during the earthquake. flying Otter winery opens Flying Otter Vineyard and Winery recent- ly opened in Adrian, Mich. Owned and operated by the Utter family, the winery will focus on crafting wines from cold- climate variety grapes harvested from estate vines. Flying Otter currently produces a red Noiret, Riesling and the white blend Northern Lights, which is comprised of Chardonel and Traminette.
