Since the devastating Valley Fire, which scorched more than 118 square miles, destroyed 1,300 homes and killed four Lake County residents, #LakeCountyRising has raised nearly $1 million for Valley Fire Relief. Napa Vintners grant nearly $6 million in auction proceeds The Napa Valley Vintners announced it had pro- vided nearly $6 million in proceeds from the group's annual charitable auction to 17 nonprofit agencies that provide community health services. To date, the NVV through its auction proceeds has given more than $150 million to Napa County nonprofit groups. The 2016 auction takes place June 2-5. NORTHWEST Oregon auction tallies $476,000 The inaugural Willamette: The Pinot Noir Barrel Auction raised $476,000 as more than 400 col- lectors and members of the trade bid on special barrel lots. Held April 2 in Newberg, Ore., the auction featured wines by 66 wineries in the Wil- lamette Valley. All of the auction proceeds will be used by the Willamette Valley Wineries Associa- tion for marketing and branding efforts. New winemaker at Dunham Cellars Tyler Tennyson is the new winemaker at Dunham Cel- lars in the Walla Walla Valley. Prior to joining Dunham Cellars, Tennyson was the assistant winemaker at Gor- don Estate Winery in Pasco, Wash. WAWGG elects board, officers The Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers elected John Derrick of Mercer Canyons to serve a three-year term on the group's board of directors during WAWGG's annual meeting in Kennewick, Wash. The group also elected Ken Lewis of Trail View Farm and Patrick Rawn of Two Mountain Winery to serve three-year terms on the nine-member board. Derrick is the vice presi- dent of vineyard operations for Mercer Canyons in Prosser, Wash., where he has worked for 23 years. Lewis is a certified public accountant and worked for a range of companies before returning to the family farm in Prosser to manage 600 acres of crops that include 120 acres of wine grapes. Lewis has served on the WAWGG Board since 2008. Rawn owns and operates Two Mountain Winery and Copeland Vineyard in Yakima Valley with his brother. WAWGG members also elected Todd Newhouse as chair, Rawn as vice chair, and Lewis as secretary and treasurer. The board now includes: Todd Newhouse of Upland Vineyards, Lynne Chamberlain of Spofford Station Vineyards, Shane Collins of Tsillan Cellars, Julia Kock of Klip- sun Vineyards, Scott Williams of Kiona Vineyards and Mike Means of Ste.
