a patented method and also have a metal rod
running the full length. Some brewers have had
the same handle in the same account for 12 years
or more," he reported. But they are also easy to
install, just screwed onto the tap/faucet.
Bottle etching for SoCal wineries
Wine bottle etching has been an established part
of California's North Coast wine industry for
decades, but the 2016 Unified Symposium in-
troduced a supplier that serves wineries from
the Central Coast to the growing Southern Cali-
fornia industry. Located in downtown San
Diego, Calif., Etching Expressions has in fact
provided custom wine labeling for 25 years and
has been etching wine bottles for 15, according
to chief operating officer Jim Ristuccia.
"We work with both large and small winer-
ies. We can do large-format bottles, including
3-liter and 5-liter bottles," he said. "This past
year we did a whole set of large-format bottles
for Justin Vineyards & Winery in Paso Robles,
Calif. These required special care, because the
paint colors are extremely custom."
Ristuccia said that at the Unified Sympo-
sium in January 2015, "Back Road Vines came
to us in desperate need of a special label for
750ml bottles to be included in swag bags at
the Academy Awards. No other vendor could
help them. Their entire marketing focus for the
season was 'Going to the Oscars.' We etched
their logo on the bottles in under a week."
Etching Expressions also maintains a single-
bottle program for wineries, allowing their cus-
tomers to order event bottles with custom text
that can be delivered in three to seven days.
