NO VEMBER NEWS Cru vin Dogs launches charitable label The 4,000-case Cru Vin Dogs, based in Denver, Colo., launched The Loyal Companion Series wines. EAST Whole Foods debuts mid-Atlantic wine program The Whole Foods Market mid-Atlantic re- gion launched A Collaboration, the first joint wine project in which Whole Foods wine buyers will work directly with producers. Christine Meredith, Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic wine buyer, and Justin Wylier, winemaker and owner of 3,000-case Va Pi- ano Vineyards, Walla Walla, Wash., unveiled their inaugural 2009 vintage. Bottles of Heron Hill wine get filled and sealed with screwcaps. Heron Hill migrates to screwcaps The 20,000-case Heron Hill Winery, Hammondsport, N.Y., will release the next bottling of its Game Bird Series with a screwcap closure. Winemaker Bernard Cannac, along with the production team, will transition from the standard cork bottling line to a newer screwcap bottling line. The winery invested in an Italian- made Fimer machine capable of bottling wines with either cork or screwcap closures. Bilow named Finger Lakes ambassador The Finger Lakes Wine Country Tourism Marketing Association in partnership with Finger Lakes Wine Alliance announced Ro- chelle Bilow as the official Finger Lakes wine and food ambas- sador. CORRECTION The name of a winery laboratory analyzer from FOSS North Amer- ica was printed incorrectly on page 32 of the October issue in the article "A Bigger, Better Warehouse," about Rock Wall Wine Co.
