NOVEMBER NEWS Redesigned nitrogen generators New 30-liter KeyKeg Parker Hannifin Corp. announced it had redesigned its pressure swing adsorption (PSA) nitrogen generators to provide flow rates 50% to 180% higher than previous models. The company's dual-bed nitrogen generators produce 99.999% pure, compressed nitrogen at dew points to -58ºF from a supply of compressed air. The unit is designed to product nitrogen continuously without requiring someone to operate it. Details: parker.com. Lightweight Containers announced it had developed a new 30-liter KeyKeg package that employs both its "Double Wall" and "Bagin-Ball" technology to serve and preserve beverages. The new KeyKeg 30 can "withstand even higher internal pressures than its predecessor and is even more resistant to damage," reports the manufacturer. The PET keg can be used for wine, sparkling wine and beer. Details: keykeg.com. Glutathione analysis by ETS ETS Laboratories is offering a new analysis for berries, juice and wine to determine levels of the powerful antioxidant glutathione. Low levels of the naturally occurring tri-peptide in grapes lead to lower levels in the juice, and the finished wine will have poor aging potential. Glutathione levels can fluctuate during fermentation and be affected by sulfur dioxide, phenolic compounds, ascorbic acid and copper. Details: etslabs.com. Carbon dioxide-monitoring system Analox Sensor Technology unveiled its new Ax60 carbon dioxidemonitoring system, which features a high-decibel alarm, visual alarm and a digital display that shows current CO2 levels. The unit also can be expanded, if needed. Details: beverage.analox.net. Wine bottle and glass in one package Steelhead Vineyards of Sonoma, Calif., and W1NE for One announced the release of a new container that combines a 187ml bottle and glass in one package. The plastic glass is attached to a screwcap bottle closure. Consumers open the bottle and then pour the wine into the glass. Details: steelheadvineyards.com. Sentry 6140 sprayer tip monitor TeeJet Technologies released its new Sentry 6140 tip flow monitor, which employs a small, turbinestyle flow meter to monitor tip flow rates and issue alerts if any flow deviates from the average rate from the spraying rig tips. The unit received a silver AE50 new product award from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. DESIGN P LAN N I N G New option for shipping small bottles Spirited Shipper announced it added a new shipping package for 375ml bottles as well as beer bottles. The company already offers cardboard shippers for between one and 12 750ml bottles as well as one to six magnumsized bottles. Details: spiritedshipper.com.
