Western IPM Center speaks for growers
during regulatory review of pesticides

Protection Agency reviews a
pesticide for re-registration,
having accurate, up-to-date
information about how it is actually used
by wine grape growers across different
cropping systems can be critical to keeping a chemical in the growers toolbox.
Gathering that information is exactly
what the Western Integrated Pest
Management Center in Davis, Calif., does,
although almost no one knows it.
"People know the Western IPM Center
funds new integrated pest management
(IPM) research and promotes the adoption of IPM practices in agricultural and
urban settings," says center director Jim
Farrar. "Few people know we employ
