NEWSMAKERS MBA Student Wins Tasting Contest P almer Emmitt, an MBA student at So- noma State University in Rohnert Park, Calif., won the student wine-tasting competi- tion at La Soiree, hosted by the French Ameri- can Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco. His prize is a one-week stay at a Champagne, France, chateau. MBA student Palmer Emmitt, who is in Sonoma State University's wine business program, took the top prize at the La Soiree wine-tasting competition in San Francisco. "I'm floating. I still can't believe that I am actually going to France," Emmitt said. All four finalists, students in Sonoma Sebastian Briare won a tasting at Lynmar Win- ery as well as $100 cash. State's Wine Business Institute, had the opportunity to be judges for a Champagne- tasting competition at the La Soiree event.
