The new Model One features what the company describes as a "friendly and functional design" and is priced less than the other models in the Coravin line. coravin.com Silicone hose for cellar use AdvantaPure announced its sili- cone hose is now listed by the National Sanitation Foundation for food equipment materials. According to the supplier, the hose is built with a liner of low- volatile-grade, platinum-cured silicone that is slipped onto a mandrel and wrapped with four piles of polyester mesh fabric, 316-grade stainless steel rein- forcing wire and additional sili- cone that is then cured into a smooth and uniform hose. The company currently produces hoses with interior diameters ranging from 0.5 inches to 2 inches. The supplier reports the hose liner is certified to be "free of animal-derived ingredients." advantapure.com Late-harvest yeast selections BSG introduced two new yeasts for grapes picked later in harvest, VP5 and Premium Zinfandel, which the supplier reports also work well as co-fermentors. VP5 is an isolate from the Italian prov- ince of Valpolicella and suited for producing "young, fresh red wines enhancing fragrant aromas." Pre- mium Zinfandel is an isolate from Primitivo de Manduria in Italy and is "highly resistant to both high osmotic conditions and tempera- ture stress." The supplier also notes the Zinfandel yeast can fin- ish in stressful conditions with "significantly" lower volatile acid- ity and low sulfide production. bsgwine.com New label option Verso Corp. introduced Craft- Point, a line of pressure-sensitive and cut-and-stack beverage label pa- pers "designed to make craft beers, spirits and wines stand out on the shelf or in the cooler." The labels are available in four finishes and basis weights ranging from 52 pounds to 70 pounds. According to Criveller, the machine employs "helical rollers that hold the fruit and slowly doses it onto the attached stainless steel augerless convey- ance system." The system can be used to move whole clusters as well as machine-harvested grapes. criveller.com Anti-counterfeiting label technology Levensohn Vineyards in Napa Val- ley announced its partnership with Authentic Vision to deploy the company's patented, copy- proof 3-D fingerprint on the win- ery's bottles. The system is designed to assure consumers that the product they've pur- chased is genuine. The technolo- gy is embedded in a small label that "cannot be reproduced and that is accessible from any smart- phone." authenticvision.com Updated UAV app for longer flights Sentera updated its AgVault 2.0 mobile iOS app featuring a bat- tery-swap capability that enables the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to plan flights of any duration and "seamlessly ac- commodates any number of bat- tery swap outs." The supplier reports the system recalls the exact coordinates where a UAV had to stop a job because of low battery power. "Once a replace- ment battery is installed, the UAV automatically resumes flight and data capture exactly where it left off." sentera.com/agvault POS and e-commerce system Wine Management Systems part- nered with simplyCMS to offer a cloud-based website, e-com- merce and POS platform for win- eries.
