APRIL NEWS Bacchus invests in Wine by Joe Estate winery opens in Ohio San Francisco-based Bacchus Capital Management LLC announced it made a "follow-on investment" in Wine by Joe. Walter Border opened the doors of his new Caesar Creek Vineyards winery and tasting room near Xenia, Ohio, in the state's Miami Valley region. Border planted coldhardy, hybrid varieties in 2005 and now produces wines made from his estate vineyards. Researchers with the USDA-funded Northern Grapes Project announced the emerging cold-climate grape and wine industry accounts for more than $342 million across 12 states, according to results of an economic survey announced during the Viticulture 2013 conference held recently in Rochester, N.Y.
