Edwards s a professor of enology at Washington State University and an expert on spoilage issues, Dr. Edwards knows a bad microbe when he sees one. In his Inquiring Winemaker column on page 98, Edwards advocates "hurdle technology" to control Brettanomyces. He wrote a tribute to Ralph Kunkee for the November 2012 issue.
