68 WINES&VINES May 2017 WINERY & VINEYARD EQUIPMENT The Wines & Vines Product Focus feature is not intended to provide a definitive listing of all available products in a particular segment or provide any comparative analysis, but rather serve as an overview of what's new or available and also of potential interest to readers as determined by the magazine's editorial staff. OXBO The Oxbo 6120 is made in Lynden, Wash., by Oxbo International Corp. and features the company's "Advanced Vintage Technology," which includes a destemmer and sorting belt mounted in the center of the machine. The supplier claims its system of "soft touch" rods gently remove grapes, and the sorting system can remove 99% of all MOG. Because the destemming and sorting system is in the center of the machine, the 6120 can be used with two on-board storage bins that offer 3,000 liters of storage capacity, a side discharge arm or a storage bin and side discharge arm. The system also allows the opera- tor to choose to bypass the sorting system entirely and use Oxbo's standard separating system that employs three fans. The machine is designed for high-tonnage vineyards. All-wheel drive and Tier III John Deere engines that provide 140 horsepower are standard. The center-positioned cab provides the operator a view from directly above the vineyard row. Other features include joystick control, touchscreen and monitor for the machine's camera. Options include a "high-performance ground drive" for more power while driving on roads and hillsides and automatic steering. Oxbo also offers a Fleet- Command system for remote data reporting, turn-by-turn directions and other fleet-management tools. The company is now offering the PremiumSort option on its 6220 trunk-shaker grape harvester. Distributed through Blueline Manufacturing and Equipment in Moxee, Wash., the G7-240 can harvest up to 12 tons per acre with row widths as narrow as 6 feet. The machine is powered by a Deutz four-cylinder engine that produces 123 horsepower and is compliant with the latest emis- sion-control standards. Integrated anti-skid and auto-speed features are standard, and the harvester has a 90° turn angle and semi-auto- matic leveler for the harvester module. The central cab is equipped with a multi-drive joystick control and touchscreen with a graphic to quickly gauge the process of filling the machine's bins and two color cameras. The harvester has 14 shakers and can pick as low as 15 cm. Two 1,500-liter bins provide for a total of 3,000 liters in onboard storage. Optional destemming and sorting systems include the latest system called Easy Clean, which offers a simple design and low main- tenance, and the Clean-Tech system, in which grapes are destemmed on a slotted conveyor belt that can be followed by the Vario roller sorting table. Larger models of the company's harvesters offer more engine power, storage capacity and side discharge capabilities.
