Crushpad assets auctioned Crushpad, a Napa- based company that provided small-lot custom crush services to hundreds of clients, closed its doors and its Foley partners with Langtry Estate Foley Family Wines will oversee sales and marketing of Langtry Estate & Vineyards in a partnership announced July 18. Deal to sell Kenwood falls through Korbel will retain ownership of Kenwood Vineyards after a deal to sell the Sonoma Valley business to Banfi Vintners report- edly fell through. The two companies had announced a deal in March, but Korbel re- leased a statement in late July that it would continue to own and operate Kenwood. Founding Indelicato dies at 87 Frank Indelicato Sr., who along with brothers Anthony and Vincent found- ed the original vineyard company that would grow to become Delicato Family Vineyards, died July 22 in Stockton at age 87. Delicato is now one of the largest wine companies in the world, with eight mem- bers of the family still involved in man- aging the business. The company is plan- ning to expand its Manteca winery from 140,000 tons to 200,000 tons and add 6,000 square feet of cellar space. New winemaker at Plumpjack Aaron Miller is the new head winemaker at Plumpjack Winery. Frank Indelicato Sr. Pahlmeyer appoints two winemakers Pahlmeyer Winery hired Kale Anderson as director of winemaking for its Napa Valley vineyard and operations and Bibi- ana Gonzalez Rave as consulting wine- maker to oversee the winery's Sonoma Coast operations. New leadership for Buena Vista Carneros The Vintners Group, which owns Carne- ros Vintners Inc. and Lodi Vintners Inc., assumed operations of the Buena Vista Winery on Ramal Road in the Carneros AVA, naming it Carneros Vintners East. Director of operations Tyson Rippey said in a statement that the move enables Wineries open joint tasting room Edmeades and Champ de Reves wineries in Mendocino County's Anderson Val- ley have opened a joint tasting room in Philo. The new venture is housed in the original Edmeades winery site, which had been closed to the public since 2002.
