Day is the former assistant wine- maker of Uptick Vineyards. New CFO at Tapp Gerald Hauprich is the new chief financial officer of Tapp Label, based in Napa, Calif. For the past 10 years, Hauprich worked as controller of CamelBak and CFO of Dilithium Networks and, most recently, Mighty Leaf Tea Co. Earlier in his career, Hauprich spent 14 years in accounting and manufacturing operations positions of increasing responsibility at Molex, an international electrical con- nector manufacturer. Baker joins Euro-Machines Euro-Machines in Fairfield, Calif., hired Colin Baker as sales and service manager. Baker will support Central Coast clients while work- ing alongside Rick Austin. Baker has worked in the wine industry for more than a decade in various posts such as cellar master, facil- ities manager and assistant winemaker. Cascade expands services Portland, Ore.-based Cas- cade Wine Services, which has provided mobile cross- flow filtration services to Northwest wineries since 2009, is expanding its services to include mobile bottling and reverse osmo- sis equipment. Cascade Wine Services owner Andy Diacetis has partnered with Caz Werp of Infinite Wave Bottling & Consult- ing in Seattle, Wash., to offer mobile wine bottling services to its Oregon customers, in addition to mobile filtration. Maverick names customer care rep Natalie Higley is the new customer-care representa- tive for Maverick Enter- prises. Higley joins Ukiah, Calif.-based Maverick after working in customer rela- tions and administration in the technology industry. Bronco testing 750ml PET bottles Bronco Wine Co. in Ceres, Calif., is testing bottling its Green Fin and Hacienda 750ml wine brands in lightweight polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles from Amcor Rigid Plastics, according to the packaging company. Bronco Wine's Green Fin organic wine in 750ml PET bottles is being tested at Trader Joe's re- tail stores throughout the United States. The PET bottles are generally about one-sixth the weight of standard glass bottles. A short-skirt roll-on pilfer- proof (ROPP) aluminum closure was designed for Bronco to meet key sus- tainability and recycling goals. The bottles are packed in 12-count trays and shrink film wrapped instead of traditional cor- rugated cardboard cases and partitions. (The shrink film packaging is 2.5 times lighter than standard card- board cases.) David Day Natalie Higley
