brand in the top 20. Ménage à Trois moved from No. 15 two years ago to No. 10 in June. Mé- nage à Trois managed a 24% in- crease in sales and a 23% increase in volume during the most recent 52 weeks. The brand also took a price increase of 11 cents per bottle during that period. An examination of the more expensive brands versus the lower priced brands was revealing. All but one of the eight brands priced $9 per bottle and above rose in sales, while seven of the 12 priced less than $9 per bottle dropped. The top 20 brands accounted for 41% of the off-premise market, as calculated by IRI. The 52-week rate of growth for off-premise dollar sales acceler- ated by 1 point to 6% in June for combined domestic table wine and sparkling wine, according to Wines & Vines' analysis of IRI data. It was the first time since Novem- ber 2014 that this metric had changed. Volume, meanwhile, rose by 11% from a year ago. Sales for the most recent 12-month period grew 14% compared to the previous year. The value of DtC shipments in June was $91,721,492 according to the Wines & Vines/ ShipCompliant Model, up from $86,602,156 in June 2014. In terms of volume, consumers received 256,206 cases shipped directly from wineries in June, which was an 11% increase from 229,997 cases in June 2014. This month we focused on the average bottle prices of varietals and wine types sold by Sonoma County wineries during the most recent 12 months. Pinot Noir clearly led in average bottle price among Sonoma County wines shipped directly to consumers. At $47, the per-bottle price of Pinot Noir was $15 higher than Cabernet Sauvignon. Pinot Noir was also the top varietal in sales, bringing in $109,437,073, while Cabernet Sau- vignon totaled $56,887,479. Chardonnay ranked No. 3, accounting for $40,951,810.
