By Andrew Adams HANNA INSTRUMENTS The HI2002 or "edge" pH and oxygen reduction potential meter by Hanna Instruments Inc. is half an inch thick and weighs 9 ounces to allow it to be used as either a portable or bench-top device. The unit features a 5.5-inch LCD display screen, capacitive touch keypad and dual USB ports. The supplier recom- mends pairing the HI2002 with its HI10480 pH and temperature electrode. The HI2002 costs $399, and the HI10480 is $199. hannainst.com METTLER TOLEDO The new Seven2GO portable pH meters by Mettler Toledo are designed to provide quick and accurate analysis in the field. The meters can be used with sensors for pH, conductivity, dis- solved oxygen and ions and fea- ture a bright mono TFT display that can be viewed at any angle down to 5° and in direct sun- light. Cost: $625-$1,600. us.mt.com HAMILTON CO. EasyFerm Bio pH sensors are intended for applications in the food and beverage industries, where intensive CIP is con- ducted. The sensor is pre- pressurized to prevent clogging of the ceramic diaphragm and the diffusion of sample into the reference electrolyte. The unit sends data via a 4-20 mA or digital Rs485 Modbus Signal.
