entire Buena Vista
operation to British
wine and spirits
group Allied Domecq
for $86 million.
Allied Domecq is acquired
by Pernod Ricard in a deal
that includes Pernod selling
Allied's wine portfolio to
Fortune Brands. While
managed by Fortune's
Beam Wine Estates division,
the focus at Buena Vista
changes to just Pinot Noir
and Chardonnay produced
with grapes from the
Carneros estate.
Boisset Family
Estates purchases the
historic winery and
Buena Vista brand.
Jackson Family Wines
later acquires the
remaining Carneros
vineyards and winery.
Fortune Brands
agrees to sell its wine
businesses, including
Buena Vista, to
Constellation Brands
for $885 million.
Ascentia Wine Estates purchases
Buena Vista and seven other
wineries from Constellation for $209
million in cash and up to $25 million
more in incentives. Ascentia's
partner in the deal is VinREIT,
which acquires the real estate and
vineyards for $115 million.
German wine and
spirits producer A. Racke
purchases the historic
winery, brand and Carneros
production facility.
