Meaghan Frank recently received a master's degree from the University of Adelaide (Australia) and is the first member of the fourth generation of the family to work for the winery, which helped pioneer the use of vinifera grapes for winemaking in New York's Finger Lakes region. Details: drfrankwines.com. Winery opens in Delaware Harvest Ridge Winery opened in November, making it the fourth operating winery in the state of Delaware. Located in the town of Marydel, the estate winery is owned and operated by Chuck and Chris Nunan, their son Chip and other family members. The Nunans purchased the property in 2005 and planted vines in 2010. Winemaker Milan Mladjan was hired this summer. The property includes a 6,250-square-foot production facility and 5,000 square feet for events and wine tasting. Old York Cellars in New Jersey unveils corkscrew sculptures Old York Cellars in Ringoes, N.J., unveiled the "Corkscrew Revolution" sculpture situated near the winery's entrance. Artists Austin White and Narendra Haynes designed the artwork, which consists of several large corkscrews, to give the winery a dramatic entrance as well as symbolize the "uncorking" of New Jersey's wine industry. Registration open for Eastern Winery Exposition Early, discounted registration is open for the Eastern Winery Exposition, which takes place March 3-6 at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, Pa. Novavine expands location Driven by the significant increase in vineyard development throughout California, Novavine has expanded its North Coast production facility in Santa Rosa, Calif.
