Biggest Sales Growth
by Winery Region
SONOMA COUNTY
California accounts for 85% of direct-to-consumer (DtC) shipments
nationwide. But the channel's growth means that shipments are no
longer confined to top-end wineries in Napa. Among the regions
claiming a fast-rising share of shipments is Sonoma, which rose from
18% of DtC activity in 2016 to 20% in 2017. This represented an addi-
tional 292,239 cases worth $105 million, the strongest case growth of
any region nationwide. Sonoma now ships 1.4 million cases annually
worth $502 million.
