WINERY & VINEYARD EQUIPMENT November 2015 WINES&VINES 97 YAMADA Yamada recently updated the air valve mechanism on its line of NDP double-diaphragm air pumps that can provide maxi- mum capacities of 30 to 200 gpm of flow. The seal rings on the Yamada pumps feature a new carbon fiber fill that pro- vides more durability, and for pumps sized 1-3 inches the seals are now comprised of one piece of material to reduce air "blow- by" and increase air pressure efficiency. The supplier contends its air pumps are gentler than other pump mechanisms be- cause the fluid is discharged from the liquid chamber in a gentle manner that does not agitate the fluid itself, causing foaming. Available on carts through Carlsen & Associates. yamadapump.com, carlsenassociates.com The Wines & Vines Product Focus feature is not intended to provide a definitive listing of all available products in a particular segment or provide any comparative analysis, but rather serve as an overview of what's new or available and also of potential interest to readers as determined by the magazine's editorial staff. Vogelsang VOGELSANG The "turnkey" wine cart pump by Vogelsang features the com- pany's "HiFlo" rotary lobe sys- tem that is designed to provide movement without any pulsa- tion and is warranted against damage from running dry for up to 30 minutes. The pump is wet, self-priming and provides 66- gpm flows. Vogelsang says the pump's minimal liquid shear makes it ideal for long pumpov- ers. The included 316 stainless- steel cart is equipped with 50 feet of power cable and quick connect flanges. vogelsangusa.com SPX Waukesha Cherry-Burrell, a brand of pumps from SPX, offers both positive displacement and centrifugal pumps for cellar op- erations. The centrifugal pumps provide maximum flows of 140 to 550 gpm, depending on the pump size, and the positive-dis- placement pumps offer max flows of 30 to 60 gpm. Available through Carlsen & Associates, the pumps come equipped with stainless steel carts, variable fre- quency drive, 50 feet of power cord and a remote control. spx.com, carlsenassociates.com WILDEN Wilden's new Saniflo Hygienic Series of diaphragm pumps fea- tures the company's Pro-Flow SHIFT, which the supplier claims can pump more product per cubic foot per minute with 60% less air consumption that other diaphragm pumps on the mar- ket. The Saniflo pumps are avail- able in 316 stainless steel and nickel-plated aluminum in 38 mm (1-1.5 inch), 51 mm (2 inch) and 76 mm (3 inch) sizes and feature maximum flows to 223 gpm. wildenpump.com Wilden Saniflo Yamada NDP5
