requires special handling. Al-
though Tietze originally hoped
for a cork finish, he settled on
a screwcap to accommodate the
2-liter size. The short run was
filled by hand, but Tietze be-
lieves a bottling line could be
adapted for the packages.
The jug is supplied by All
American Containers and is part
of its Growler line. Pricing was "in
line with a 12-bottle case of good-
quality glass," Tietze said.
Clearly different
Susan Tipton, owner/winemaker
of 1,500-case Acquiesce Winery
in Acampo, Calif., near Lodi,
wanted to showcase her stylish
white wines reminiscent of the
southern Rhône.
"It always bothered me that
you couldn't tell a white wine
from a red in a dark wine bottle,"
Tipton said. "The whites are so
pretty, I wanted to display them."
