Key Indicators Complete data is available at winesandvines.com/metrics U .S. wine sales grew 6% in November 2016 compared to November 2015, according to market research firm BW 166. Sales through all channels ap- p r o a c h e d $ 3 . 5 b i l l i o n , c o n t i n u i n g t h e growth seen for much of this year. Total wine sales rose 4% in the 12 months ending November 2016, approaching $40 bil- lion. Sparkling wine growth continued at 10%, more than double the pace of table wines. Sparkling wines represented just 5% of U.S. wine sales during this period, however. "Current market trends are showing domes- tic still wines driving the growth," said Jon Moramarco, managing partner of BW 166. He noted that international wines have stepped back from the growth posted earlier in 2016. "Im- ported still wines' growth has slowed over recent months with volumes being relatively flat." Indeed, when sparkling wines are stripped from the figures, domestic wines account for all but a miniscule fraction of the growth in wines sold in the United States. —Peter Mitham U.S. Wine Sales Winery Job Index MONTH November 2016 180 November 2015 152 12 MONTHS November 2016 287 November 2015 271 MONTHLY INDEX 6% Domestic Wine Sales Grow 6% in November and 4% for 12 Months Source: winejobs.com winejobs.com Index 500 400 300 200 100 0 2016 2015 Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov 18% METRICS 12 WINES&VINES January 2017 Off-Premise Sales IRI Channels MONTH November 2016 $769M November 2015 $745M 12 MONTHS November 2016 $8,633M November 2015 $8,198M MONTHLY SALES U.S. Wine Sales MONTH November 2016 $3,494M November 2015 $3,309M 12 MONTHS November 2016 $39,523M November 2015 $37,822M MONTHLY SALES 3% 5% 4% 6% Direct-to-Consumer Shipments MONTH November 2016 $332M November 2015 $310M 12 MONTHS November 2016 $2,321M November 2015 $1,956M MONTHLY SHIPMENTS 19% 7% Source: , Wines Vines Analytics.
