Key Indicators Complete data is available at winesandvines.com/metrics U .S. wine sales tracked by market re- search firm BW166 rose 5% in October 2016 versus the same month a year earlier. Sales of domestic wine through all channels including on-premise, off-premise and direct-to-consumer totaled $3.4 billion. Growth was even with September. Total wine sales rose 3% in the 12 months ending October 2016, totaling $38.8 billion. Sparkling wine growth continued at 8%, while imported bulk wine dropped 1%. On-premise sales increased in all categories, posting an overall gain of 6%. Jon Moramarco of BW166 noted that while sparkling wines remained a key driver, con- sumer preferences are favoring domestic wines. "Earlier in the year we were seeing slightly stronger growth for imports, but as we moved through the year, domestic table wines are now outperforming imported table wines," he said. —Peter Mitham U.S. Wine Sales Winery Job Index MONTH October 2016 171 October 2015 179 12 MONTHS October 2016 285 October 2015 269 MONTHLY INDEX 6% U.S. Wines Post Consistent Growth; Sales Rise 5% Across All Channels Source: winejobs.com winejobs.com Index 500 400 300 200 100 0 2016 2015 Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct -4% METRICS 10 WINES&VINES December 2016 Off-Premise Sales IRI Channels MONTH October 2016 $626M October 2015 $595M 12 MONTHS October 2016 $8,570M October 2015 $8,116M MONTHLY SALES U.S. Wine Sales MONTH October 2016 $3,435M October 2015 $3,284M 12 MONTHS October 2016 $38,806M October 2015 $37,659M MONTHLY SALES 5% 6% 3% 5% Direct-to-Consumer Shipments MONTH October 2016 $391M October 2015 $288M 12 MONTHS October 2016 $2,299M October 2015 $1,919M MONTHLY SHIPMENTS 20% 35% Source: , Wines Vines Analytics.
