October 2016 WINES&VINES 25 PRODUCT NEWS Yeast product to rescue fermentations Lallemand released Reskue, an inactive yeast designed to help restart a stuck fermentation by eliminating short- and medium- chain fatty acids and pesticide residues. Lallemand developed the product by treating a specific yeast strain with an autolysis process that yielded cell walls with enhanced sorption capaci- ties. The product can be used when restarting fermentations to ensure a sluggish fermentation finishes or when dealing with a grape lot that has been contami- nated with excess pesticides. lallemandwine.com Coating for winery walls and ceilings Flowcrete Americas launched Flowgard, a complementary line of coatings for use on walls and ceilings. The new range incorpo- rates three abrasion- and scratch-resistant, non-porous epoxy coating systems that can be further reinforced with fiber- glass matting. According to the manufacturer, the coatings are resistant to chemicals and sol- vents and easy to clean and san- itize. flowcreteamericas.com Barrel guarantee Tonnellerie Ô announced it's now offering a guarantee for its U.S. cli- ents on the cooper's French and American oak barrels. The compa- ny says it will "replace or reimburse any barrel that does not positively impact a wine's maturation." The replacement or reimbursement guarantee is limited to a total of four barrels. tonnellerieo.com Mobile wholesale platform Active Club Solutions introduced its new mobile iPad wholesale platform that enables winery staff to sell wine anywhere at any time. The new feature is integrat- ed with the company's iPad point of sale, wine club, e-commerce and multi-location inventory management systems. It allows staff to take wholesale orders anywhere as well as generate in- voices or receive payments. activeclubsolutions.com Fermentation monitoring system AEB's Ctrl-Ferm system moni- tors a fermentation by detecting the amounts of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide in the headspace of a tank. The sys- tem consists of a tube with sen- sors that is placed through the top hatch of a tank. The sensors constantly monitor CO 2 and H 2 S levels and transmit data via SIM to a server that processes it and generates a plotted graph. Winemaking staff can use the data to track fermentation as well as make nutrient additions and get an early warning on any fermentation issues. aebusa.myshopify.com Clarior Doble Alto by Global Package Global Package introduced the Clarior Doble Alto bottle, which is a new addition to its Estal line of bot- tles. The new bottle features "refined lines and a double base height that acts like a podi- um." According to the supplier, the design of the bottle "in- creases a brand's shelf presence without increasing the amount of glass used in manufac- turing." globalpackage.net Send your product news to edit@winesandvines.com
