SUPPLIER Cork Supply opens China location The Cork Supply Group opened a new facility in Tianjin, China, to process and distribute corks, bar- rels and oak barrel alterna- tive products. Cork Supply China (CSC) will be used for the printing, brand- ing, treatment, packaging and shipping of corks as well as the distribution of Tonnellerie Ô barrels and Creative Oak alterna- tive products. CSC is an extension of Cork Supply Group's facilities in Por- tugal. The new facility will employ the latest quality assurance systems and equipment including a GAI semi-automatic corker, Mecmesin extraction force test, JAV sealing test and other treatment verification processes. The CSC team includes Neil Walsh as ex- ecutive director, Jacky Liu as general manager and Lisa Yang as administra- tion manager. G3 acquires Grigsby Label G3 Enterprises Inc. of Modesto, Calif., acquired El Dorado Hills, Calif.- based Grigsby Label. Augusta Label adds shrink sleeve services In response to the grow- ing needs of the craft beer and wine industries in the Midwest, Augusta Label in Burr Ridge, Ill., installed an automatic shrink sleeve machine. Combined with a 3 Axis Steam tunnel, the applicator can sleeve and shrink 750 ml alu- minum wine bottles with screwtops. The bottles are available from stock by the packaging supplier. Peregrine offering crossflow Peregrine Mobile Bottling, which is based in Napa, Calif., is now offering mo- bile crossflow filtration with a Pall Oenoflow XL-65 filter with 121 m 2 of filtration sur- face and variable frequency driven pumps. The filter is housed in a custom-built box trailer. Maverick wins honor for metal use Closure supplier Maverick Enterprises Inc. in Ukiah, Calif., announced it won the 2016 Platts Global Metals Award for Met- als User of the Year.
