Competition Tasting
Winners from a record 7,162 entries to
the 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine
Competition packed the Festival Pa-
vilion at Fort Mason in San Francisco,
Calif., on Feb. 13 to share their award-
winning wines with the public.
Amira Makansi, assistant winemaker at award-
winning Peachy Canyon Winery in Paso Robles,
Calif., shared the Bordeaux Blend Para Siempre.
Winemaker Nori Nakamura from Larson Family
WInery poured his five award-winning wines.
Ryan and Amber Reed claimed two awards for their Reed Wine Cellars in Lodi, Calif. One was for a
2011 Zinfandel and the other a 2012 Tempranillo.
Kopavi Villasenor poured wines from Rodney
Strong Estate Vineyard, which won 13 awards.
Bryan Vais, founder and winemaker at Bailiwick
Wines in Sonoma, Calif., earned five awards
from the Chronicle, including a gold for this
2013 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.
Winemaker Rosanne Keith of Sierra View Winery
& Vineyards shared her 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon.
