Both hold degrees in journalism and worked as profes- sional newspaper reporters and editors before joining Wines & Vines. Lavin, with the magazine since early S 2008, now takes responsibility for the overall presentation and timeliness of edi- torial content in each print issue of Wines & Vines as well as online editorial material. She has been editing articles, designing and producing magazine pages and reporting on wine industry issues from Paso Robles, Calif., to China. She formerly designed edi- torial pages for The Examiner in San Fran- cisco and edited copy for the Contra Costa Times in Walnut Creek, Calif. Adams has seven years of newspaper reporting and editing experience under his belt as well as stained hands from his fourth crush working in production and lab roles in the Napa Valley wineries of Starmont and Beringer Vineyards. As staff writer he will research and write many of the magazine's how-to articles about winemaking and grapegrowing techniques and equipment. Adams grew up in a wine industry fam- Andrew Adams ily in Sonoma, Calif., and graduated from the University of Or- egon in 2002. His main journalistic experience was in Lodi, Calif., where he worked as a reporter and later the city editor of the daily Lodi News-Sentinel.
