Complete renovation of the 1880 William Castner Winery that was closed and converted into a residence during Prohibition. Work included interior structural retrofit and installation of hot and cold glycol. A 50,000-gallon water tank, new well and fire-protection system were installed. A temporary crush pad adjacent to the building was created until a cave can be dug in the future. The Morlets previously renovated an 1853 farmhouse on the estate, where their family currently lives.
BUILDING THE WINERY MAKING THE WINE SORTERS
The stone building required much renova- tion to return to use as a winery. A one-story addition was added to the rear, reaching the adjacent hillside to provide a future entrance to a cave. This addition contains an office, partial catering kitchen, limited case goods storage and a bathroom.
