It has an integrated servo- laner on the infeed that divides the appropriate number of bottles into three individual lanes. The case packer then groups the bottles and releases them into cases using a patented "soft catch" sys- tem that reduces the impact of the bottles going into the cases. After the case packer, the cases are sealed by a Standard-Knapp Model 199 hot-melt case sealer. There is a high speed Mettler Toledo CS3600 Caseweigh, an in-motion scale for weighing the packed wine cases with an accuracy of ±10 grams to ±45 grams that will reject any case outside 1% of the programmed case weight. A Markem-Imaje 5800 series laser case printer uses solvent-free Touch Dry ink that dries instantly on contact, providing readable barcodes that do not bleed or fade. Up to two 256-channel addressable print heads can provide a maximum print height of 2.56 inches per head with a maximum print speed of 383 feet per minute. The printer can be configured to print on multiple sides of the case in a range of jetting orientations. A Columbia/Okura robotic palletizer assembles four-layer pallets of shippers with a capacity to handle 12-pack cases of 750ml wine bottles at a rate of 20 cases per minute or six-pack cases of 750ml bottles at 30 cases per minute. The A700 robotic palletizer has Category 3 safety components. There is a PhoenixPCTA-2100 auto- matic turntable stretch wrapper com- plete with multiple pallet load staging conveyors with a capacity of 35 to 40 loads per hour, up to 4,000-pound weight capacity, complete automation controls with Allen Bradley PLC and HMI. This system allows an operator to deposit palletized loads to be wrapped at a drop-off conveyor zone. The system automatically indexes the loads forward into the wrapper table area to apply the stretch wrap. The machine completes the wrapping automatically and then discharges the wrapped load off to staging out-feed conveyor sections for accumulation until a forklift operator removes them.
