Quality Stainless expands stock tank offerings Tank manufacturer Quality Stainless Tanks of Windsor, Calif., has leased an additional build- ing to offer an expanded line of stock tanks. Sales manager Scott Dapelo said the company leased a 10,000-square-foot building for fabri- cators to produce stock tanks ranging in size from 500-gallon portable tanks to 10,000-gal- lon tanks. Dapelo said the company is enjoying great demand with orders through October, many of which have been from wineries outside the West Coast. Heritage, ICON merge Livermore, Calif.-based Heritage Paper, a large- format digital printer, and point-of-purchase display designer ICON Design & Display merged in April. ICON will retain its facility in Santa Rosa, Calif., with plans to open a sales and "in- novation" center in the future. Manufacturing and distribution will move to Heritage's main production facility in Lathrop, Calif. O-I seeks to acquire Mexican glassmaker Mexican glass manufacturer Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V. signed an agreement with Owens-Illinois Inc. accepting a bid to sell its food and bever- ages glass containers business. The transac- tion is valued, cash and debt free, at $2.15 billion. Included in the sale are five glass factories in Mexico, one plant in Bolivia and the distribution of food and beverage glass products in the United States. The transac- tion is subject to approval from Vitro's general shareholder's meeting, the Federal Competition Commission and the National Foreign Invest- ment Commission, as well as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. Bucher to sell Sutter presses, makes hire Santa Rosa, Calif.-based Bucher Vaslin North America is now the exclusive representative for Sutter presses throughout the continent. "We are excited to be able to extend our press offerings to include Sutter wine presses from 25 hectoliters (HL) to 90 HL for our customers who prefer the open-cage press style," says Mea Leeman, director of sales and marketing. Bucher Vaslin North America is a subsidiary of Bucher Vaslin SA and Bucher Industries, which acquired the Sutter wine press division from Swiss-based Filtrox Group in 2011. Bucher Vas- lin North America also announced it had hired Lorenzo Vega as service technical manager. Vega will be responsible for all technical aspects of the company's winery equipment brands, as well as the Costral brand of bottling lines.
