The 550-acre McEvoy Ranch prop- erty includes 80 acres of olive trees and 25 acres of grapevines. The winery produces a rosé, Pinot Noir and Syrah-based red blend. Winemaking promotions at Schramsberg Following the departure of Keith Hock, who launched his own con- sulting venture, Schramsberg Vine- yards of Calistoga promoted Sean Thompson to the post of senior winemaker. Thompson, who joined the company in 2006, will over- see all aspects of production for Schramsberg sparkling wine and Davies Vineyards red wine. Dan Person was promoted to associate winemaker for Schramsberg Vine- yards, where he previously served as assistant winemaker, and Jes- sica Koga rejoins the production team as associate winemaker for Davies wines. Koga will handle day-to-day operations at Davies and coordinate the bottling, rid- dling and disgorging of Schrams- berg sparkling wines. Founding winemaker returns to Andis Founding winemaker Mark McKen na has returned to Plym- outh-based Andis Wines, which opened in 2010. McKenna left in June 2014 and was replaced by Doug Hackett, the winemaker and founder of Dogwood Cellars in Healdsburg, Calif. McKenna has now replaced Hackett, who left to pursue other opportunities. NORTHWEST New GM at Penner-Ash Patrick Connelly is the new general manager for family-owned Penner- Ash Wine Cellars of Newberg, Ore. Connelly will oversee the winery's wholesale and retail business as well as day-to-day operations. A native of Napa Valley, Connelly came to Penner-Ash after working in management at wineries there and in Sonoma County. New team at Scott Paul Wines Cameron Healy has assembled a management team to "breathe bold, new life" into Carlton, Ore.- based Scott Paul Wines, which Healy acquired in 2014. In 1978 Healy founded Kettle Foods Inc., which is best known for the Kettle Chips brand. He co-founded Kona Brewing Co. in 1994. In 2004 he became a partner in Scott Paul and later bought the entire com- pany. Healy brought on Shawn Bavaresco as partner and presi- dent and Ian Burch as winemaker. Bavaresco is the former creative director for Banfi Vintners' global brands and founder of VinMotion wine company, which was ac- quired by Banfi in 2010. Burch is the former winemaker at Evening Land Vineyards. Rosenthal promoted at Chateau Ste. Michelle Chateau Ste. Michelle announced the promotion of David Rosenthal to supervise the winery's white wine program. Rosenthal will report to head winemaker Bob Bertheau and manage day-to-day operations at Chateau Ste. Michelle's white wine cellar outside of Seattle in Woodinville, Wash.
