The new company, based at F re e F l o w 's l o c a t i o n i n Napa, provides custom draft system design, instal- lation, maintenance and line cleaning. Free Flow Wines acquired Bay Area-based Cuff's Tap Service in July 2014 and spent the past six months re-organizing it into Tap'd Draft Solutions. Gallo wins innovation award Bank of the West and Frui- tion Sciences recognized the winner of the second annual Vintage Report In- novation Award Presented at a ceremony in Napa, Calif. The award celebrates innovation and sustain- ability in viticulture. The winning project was a col- laborative experiment by E. & J. Gallo Winery and IBM to apply a variable-rate ir- r i g a t i o n s y s t e m a c ro s s separate quadrants of a 31-acre Cabernet Sauvi- gnon vineyard. The result decreased vineyard spatial variability and increased water-use efficiency with- out compromising quality during drought conditions. Tapp finalizes mergers, sets executive team Tapp Label Co. in Napa announced it had final- ized the merger of its four printing locations into one entity as well as appointed an executive management team. The company is op- erating digital, offset and flexographic printing and decoration in Napa and Livermore, Calif., Portland, Ore., and Vancouver, B.C. New sales rep for Seguin Moreau Greg Sitton is the new Se- guin Moreau Napa Cooper- age barrel and oak barrel alternative product sales representative for Califor- nia's Sonoma and Men- docino counties, Lodi AVA and the Sierra Nevada foot- hills. Sitton has four years of barrel sales experience and seven years of wine industry sales experience. Laffort opens retail locations Laffort USA announced it has opened new retail out- lets at Carlsen & Associates in Healdsburg, Calif., and at TCW Equipment's new Santa Rosa location. Both locations will carry Laffort's range of yeast, enzymes, bacteria, nutrients, tan- nins and other winemaking products. G3 expands to meet demand for Diam G3 Enterprises in Modesto, Calif., completed a series of upgrades to its cork fa- cilities to boost its capacity to produce Diam closures. The company added five new single-head printers to print on more than 1 million closures per day as well as a new coater to increase its batch range from 6,000 to 20,000 closures. G3 is the North American distribution partner for French manu- facturer Diam Bouchage's technical corks for still wines and Mytik for spar- kling wines. Tom Beard partners with VinWizard Tom Beard Co., which pro- duces barrel-cleaning ma- chinery, is now the North American distributor for VinWizard winery automa- tion, monitoring and control systems. VinWizard is a re- motely accessible system providing integrated software and hardware to manage fer- mentation, temperatures and all other operations from a remote location. Dohm joins Separators Inc. Stephen Dohm is the new vice president of opera- tions for Separators Inc. In his new role, Dohm will oversee the company's centrifuge remanufacturing, service and replacement parts offerings.
