the challenge
The founders of Kosta Browne knew they needed to expand, but they didn't want to buy or build a traditional estate winery
and couldn't find the right fit in any of Sonoma County's existing custom-crush facilities. Their search eventually led them to
meet with a developer who had begun work on a novel project in Sebastopol, Calif. The development known as The Barlow
houses small independent food producers, speciality shops and a few other wineries. Kosta Browne is the largest tenant in the
development, occupying three buildings, all customized to suit the winery's needs.
